It is very good that you take note of everything that strikes your eye and that you think of your sketchpad as your best friend. However, when travelling, there are many moments when you cannot be late and cannot stop to draw. No problem: thanks to a digital camera or, even better, a smartphone, you can collect a large quantity of “reference” materials, including image, video and audio files, which you can always delete after your reportage is finished. How long would it take to draw all the details of the splendid baroque churches in Lecce? Just take a photo and you can move on to your next destination. When you get home, you can take your time and make all the drawings you want using your reference photos.
